Sammie was born and raised in Avon, IN. She received her BS in Chemistry in 2024 from Indiana University. While at IU, she did research under Jeremy Smith, focusing on the synthesis of iron complexes to study ligand disassembly. In 2024, she ventured north to UW-Madison, and started research on zeolites, then joined the Berry group in 2025. Outside of lab, she enjoys walking her dog, rock climbing, and baking. She is excited to work on ammonia oxidation electrocatalysis, focusing on osmium compounds.
