Max Beardsley

Max Beardsley, having lived in Madison all his life, is currently having a wonderful time getting his chemistry career started at UW-Madison. Originally an oboe performance major, he elected instead to bring out the tree hugger in him in an Environmental Sciences major before the powerful allure of pure chemistry yanked him right out of that and straight into Dr. Berry’s lab. Having been introduced to many projects from organic ligand synthesis to transition metal computational chemistry, he usually sums up his research as “having fun with his molecules”. When not making new molecular friends, he can be found playing in local rock bands and symphony orchestras, bothering his cat, or going to a forest to ponder the meaning of life.
